Apartment Prices By Bedrooms for First Quater 2010


The chart below shows the actual average sold prices for the three months from January through March 2010. It will give you a good idea of what apartments sold for by area by the number of bedrooms.  So, if you are working with a budget as almost everyone is, you might want to consider the area that  best suits your budget.  You should also consider the adage that it is better to have the smallest property in the best area, than the most expensive property in not as good an area.

The chart below shows the actual sold price per square metre for the first quarter of 2010.  To estimate the cost of an average apartment multiply the square meterage of the apartment you are considering by the appropriate amount by area and by bedrooms and compare to the selling price.  For example a two bedroom apartment in Sea Point of 100 square metres would have sold for 100 times R18,666 or R1,866,000.
