Location:
Situated off the R71 that runs from Polokwane eastwards towards
Phalaborwa. The nearest town is Gravelotte, only a few kms away.
Leydsdorp is about 70 km from the Kruger National Park. GPS

Leydsdorp today consists of 880 stands, hotel, lodge, historical
houses, police station, and a cemetery. The plots vary in size
between 247 sq m and 495 sq m, each with its own title deed. With
no land claim, Eskom power readily available, developments to
make enough water available, the plans are to restore the hotel to its
former glory and to develop Leydsdorp from its current status to
resemble the cultural historical town of the 1890’s.
History:
The gold rush town of Leydsdorp, once with a population of 5000
was proclaimed in 1891 when gold was first discovered in South
Africa. The hotel was built in 1871, is the 2nd oldest in the
Transvaal. Paul Kruger himself spent time at Leydsdorp, staying in
his hunting lodge.
